If you're still early on in the game, consider just sticking with exotic gear. As you play the game you'll just naturally acquire lots of the materials you need, as well as the money you'll need to buy anything you're missing. I was looking for this comment- if you have full WvW infusions and an ascended breather, the value of that breather is that you can pop in a swim speed infusion and troll the shit out of people by kiting them hard underwater at bay or around South Island lake area by being so much faster. I just wonder - can I craft ascended gear with stats or buy it from the trading post? Or only way to acquire it is from PvP, fractals and raids? Thanks for answers. For celestial trinkets buy the ascended ones from the fractal vendor or laurel vendors, do NOT bother with the exotic ones.Be aware celestial requires charged quartz crystals, 5 per inscription/ insignia, those are still timegated. Honestly I'd rather just convert the cheapest ascended option. Trying to gear out my CPS Warrior, need 4 more armor pieces, and I'm tired of running winterberries for obby shards. Rather just put up some buy orders, do my daily crafts, and work towards my "free" ascended specialization weapons. Once you get an exotic piece, you unlock the equivalent ascended armor piece. You can then buy that with gold, grandmaster marks (tailors, etc.), WvW Skirmish Claim tickets, and 250 Memories of battle (you can earn these but they are also available on the TP). Check this: To be able to buy the T3-ascended gear you must have unlocked the T2-skin. And to be able to buy the T2 skin you must have unlocked the T1 skin etc. BTW: If you plan to build the Legendary with the T3-skin it is cheaper to buy the exotic version of the T2-gear to unlock the T2 skin. You'll need max level crafting to make ascended armor. You can't buy ascended gear on the trading post because it's always account bound. You can buy it from a new NPC in the fractal lobby, but that's more expensive than lJoc.
